The Doï Collection is an exploration of what lies in the absence of matter—a meditation on subtraction as a creative force. Rather than focusing on building form through accumulation, this piece seeks meaning through reduction. It is about unlearning the conventions of design, peeling back layers of familiarity to expose the raw, elemental essence of material and shape.
This sideboard embodies that ethos: it is composed not just of wood and lacquer, but of space, light, and rhythm. The design plays with simple, monolithic volumes, revealing a sculptural language that aims to be both restrained and expressive. Each vertical panel seems carved from a larger mass, suggesting that what remains is just as intentional as what has been removed.
By emphasizing the process over the product, DOI reframes the object not as a finality, but as a trace of transformation—a visual and tactile record of thought, gesture, and absence. It invites reflection on what is truly essential in both design and experience.
