Exploring the dialogue between large-scale architecture and furniture design, it becomes clear that the connection betwee them goes far beyond the functional dimension. The two fields influence each other, borrowing forms, proportions, and principle in a continuous and natural exchange. The Duomo sofa thus becomes a bridge between a classica aesthetic and a contemporary minimalist approach, while also serving as an experiment in how an architectural volume ca be translated into a two-dimensional form, only to regain its three-dimensionality through geometry Inspired by Bucharest's eclectic domes, the piece is a graphic interpretation of the dome-reduced to a two-dimensional silhouette that regains its three-dimensional presence throug extrusion and rotation, forming a new volume that embraces the entire seating area.
